Our mission
Up until 15-20 years ago, technology innovation had been the privilege of large corporations and governments, aka the establishment. With exponential technological development, the creation of innovation is now accessible to small companies and startups.
This has created a need for the establishment to explore external innovations on the market if it doesn’t want to be left behind and to find ways to cooperate with them in various forms of incubation/acceleration and business development programs.
XO.company has the mission to build bridges and navigate the establishment in this new era of technology innovation.
Our Story
The concept of XO.company was started in 2016 by the founders of Global Startup Awards (since 2012) as an evolutionary progress due to the demand for more advanced services from the competition's private and public Clients.
Global Startup Awards was founded in 2012 as a grassroots movement to find, recognise, and connect founders, investors, ecosystem builders, and other startup ecosystem stakeholders. The purpose of the awards is to make relationships across borders where connections had not existed previously. It is the DNA of XO.company to have a close connection to the heart of the community, which gives our agency a competitive advantage.

The name: XO.company
The name XO was inspired by two elements that are fundamental for innovation: scientific development and human collaboration. The name is a combination of the two concepts below.
Exoplanets
An exoplanet or extrasolar planet is a planet outside the Solar System that represents scientific development (info HERE).

“XOXO” is a symbol often used to express sincerity, affection, love or strong friendship at the end of a message, representing warmth, connection and human collaboration. (info HERE).
